Suited for the more serious learner wishing to study Mandarin as a language and the cultural aspects of Chinese lifestyle.

Objective: Provides coordinated practice in all four language skills, listening, speaking, reading and writing. Designed to help learners understand how to use Chinese in everyday life – how to understand it on the streets, speak it on the telephone, read it in a newspaper or write a report.
Learner Profile: Beginners to Intermediate.
Course Duration: 50 one-on-one classes with a teacher and unlimited on line access to all course material for self study. (If required, additional one-on-one teacher lead classes can be purchased at US$15 per hour)

We recommend at least 2hours of one-on-one classes per week to consolidate the previous lessons covered.

Integrated Chinese Level 1 is taught by many schools and universities. It is designed for the serious learner and requires a commitment to self study together with our teacher led classes. The time to completion will vary from student to student.
Next Course Level: Integrated Chinese Level 2
Certification: Our course material and internal assessment process directly corresponds to the requirements for certification recognized by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA) of the United Kingdom. Please visit www.qca.org.uk (Government funding is available for this certification for students in the United Kingdom only)

Topics Introduced:

Level 1, Part 1 introduces 350 characters. Pinyin text is presented directly above Chinese character text, so students can focus on speaking and pronunciation.

Level 1, Part 2 introduces a further 350 characters. Pinyin text is presented at the end of each lesson, so students can begin reading Chinese characters without the help of Pinyin.
